I caught a few large crappie this weekend in 40 ft of water fishing 20 ft deep. The fish have moved from where they were for the past month with the cooler weather and water temps. Is anybody finding them shallow yet?

We've been catching a few under piers on Logan Martin and Lay Lake in 10 to 12 feet. I went crappie fishing sep.22 and caught some med. size that were in about 18ft. of water. They were about 15ft. deep. Do you know how to make a crappie bed? If you do i sure would like some advice how to make one.
