Actually the biggest crappies of the year are usually taken in February at Weiss.....After that....the chances of catching anything over 3 pounds goes down...especially after April.

I am planning on trying to fish there for the first time come
early March. Is this a good time to catch the big ones or is that too early? And can you send any info about where to go or who to contact. I do appreciate it.

you can catch some nice fish In Feb. at the mouth of Little River.

I know you know where the big'ums are. We used to catch'em all the time at "The Bridge", while we sneak a few drinks of brew. Of Cousre Billy Clark was the true fisherman, but he always seemed to catch the big'um was nobody was around, and he always got away from him.
Mud Creek is a good place in mid-sping...
