I am trying to plan a big fishing trip for several people in mid-March, and I was wondering where I should begin to fish at that time. I am a first timer to Lake Weiss and I need some help. Where is a good place to stay?

I've been going to Weiss, lake every march for the past 7 years. Weiss, lake is good for trophy crappie, we have caught 2pounders every day. Stayed at Bay Springs first year, very nice people long ways to boat to yellow creek to catch crappie. The last 6 years we stayed at Pruett's, nice people bad helpers! Good fish near by. mag65@netdirect.net Eaton,IN.

The last time I stayed at Bay Springs Motel, it is reasonable and close to the water. They are nice people and sell jigs they make, you should get some because they work. That time of year it is very crowded at Weiss. There will be a Crappie USA tournament there on March 24th.

The best folks I know for advice on Weiss are Cheryl and Steve at Weiss Lake Guide Service. Drop them a line and I am sure they will do their best to help you whether or not you want to use their guide service. They are good people.
