hey, fatdaddy I guess your getting pumped up to go fish at the end of the month. I havent had time to get on this computer much, I been fishin' I went to buckhorn lake in kentucky last week and I tell you its comparable to guntersville me and my cousin put 186 nice slabs on ice in 3 days I dont guess thats to shabby!!!! but the weather turned bad so we went on home I hope to go back to guntersville next week, I could not get off work the same week your going or I would show you guys a couple of holes I know down there. There is one secret tho at guntersville, dont set there not getting in the action if you dont catch one in a half hour move on. Once you find them most of the time you can load the boat! I have a good friend who lives close to the lake and fishes about 3 or 4 days a week there If I can get in touch with him I let you know what to use and where their at!!! well better shut up for now and good luck!!

fatdaddy, What's up? Just unloaded the boat and unpacking three medium cooler's full of some of the largest crappie that I have ever caught.I have been fishing Guntersvil for about eight years and I have got some secret fishing holes. But I think you guys may not have picked the best time, because the weather from March through April is unpredictable. One day it is snowing, and the next day it is 65 degrees, that not good for the fish.Hopefully you guys get there and it is mild weather, good luck and drop a line or two for me....THE HOOKER

Fatdaddy, the time you picked is one of the best times of the year to fish at g-ville.I know mr.crappie and what he told you is all true for he is one of the top fishermen around.if all possible maybe we can all hook up and catch a few.we are always trying to help out first timers.let me check mine and mr crappie's schedule and we will get back with you and let you know.if it dosn't work out then good luck to you and your buddies.mr.filet

For those of you planning trips to guntersville. Watch for changes as the water warms the fishing conditions change. Right now fish seem to be in deeper water, in creek channels. With the water temp dropping down cold enough to kill off alot of the shad population, these fish are going to have a little harder time finding a easy meal. So hopefully they will be easier to catch.I fish Guntersville weekly providing it's not raining or snowing or just too windy to be on the water. I'll keep posting my results good bad or what ever Jigger

What's up Fat Daddy? The time you have chosen should be a great time to come to Gunterville. Kentucky Lake is a great lake, but to get the big ones you must come to Gunterville. Last year I had a couple of guys from Harrodsburg Ky. to come and fish for three days at the same date. The action was awesome for the entire time. In the three days we boated 250 SLABS of big black crappie. The action was so great the Harrodsburg boys is coming back for another round of some great Gunterville action. If the weather is on than the SLABS should be there and plenty of them. Good Luck Fat Daddy. Mr. Crappie

Just curious... were you fishing tightline or under a cork and how deep were they hitting?
Thanks

Fishing tight line in 10 ft. of water, no float dragging jig along the bottem, I tried several methods, but seemed to have the best luck with jig on bottem reeling REAL slow

Crappie are doing real good at Guntersville, try the boat houses in about 5 foot of water, last time I went was Monday and the surface temp. was 42 in 10 foot water, everyone knows the water warms faster in the shallows, they have moved in to these shallow boat houses, you just got to look for them
