On a local small lake, the water is only 1-5 feet within 20 ft. from the bank. The water is slightly muddy.Should I try fishing where it drops of about 6 more feet or is that to far out.The deepest point is only about 20 feet beacause of a beaver dam. Also, what lure would be the best for this this type of water in early Feb.

11ft out is a pretty long ways but as long as you work the bait slow then you'll have no problems catching thoes big slabs of crappie. In fairly muddy water I would use a Shad collered, bass assisin in other words are called a bubble belly, about 2 inches curlly tailled with a 1/8oz plain rooster tail head prrefably black. Jig that slowly and nothing will go rong, you will pick anthing up in that lake even smallies to carp. well hit me back , your pal ,BIG BOY BASS.
