There is a fishing message board that covers the North Alabama area and as far as I can tell is operated by folks in the North Alabama area. It isn't dedicated to crappie only, but I think you may get better responses from inquiries there. It is the North Alabama Fishing Forum. A bonus is that it is a non-commercial site and seems to have a pretty good following.

Yes, I know no-one seems to respond... I dont know why, I like this forum--its easier to use than some. You may want to check out WWW.NORTHAMERICANCRAPPIE.COM but there forums aren't much better. Pretty good site, but too much hoopla.
