Just curious if you've had any offers on your boat? Also what made you go with the four stroke engine? Is the four stroke any quieter than the two stroke,I've never heard a four stroke run in the water.Take care, Ricky

No replies. I guess I need to pursue selling it through other means. Doesn't look to me like this website is visited very much anyway.

I researched boats and motors for quite a long time before settling on the rig I bought. My primary usage was intended to be flyfishing for bream and bass. I have had good success with it. Caught 68 on one trip. It is ideal for that type of fishing. Also caught several bass on bream flies, the largest of which weighed 4.5 pounds. That is all just using the boat. It has been a real pleasure. My wife just has some medical problems (breast cancer) and things are getting a little tighter than we anticipated. As a result, I have not been able to use it much and had planned to do more crappie fishing during the summer.

But, that is not what you asked about. The four stroke is quieter than the two stroke. At top speed, you can still talk to the person in the back seat without raising your voice to much. At idle, it is extremely quiet. But, the main reason I bought it is because it runs cleaner and does not pollute as badly. We are very conscious of environmental considerations. It does cost more than the two stroke. On the other hand, you do not add oil to the gasoline and it gets much better mileage, so that off sets the cost slightly. It would take a long time to outweigh the cost of a two stroke, but again we think it is just being environmentally sensitive.

Sorry to hear about your wife, I know things will work out for you guys.I have a 14ft fiberglass crappie boat myself.I purchased a 2000 Yr Johnson 25hp 2 cycle. The boat is older which is the reason I bought the new motor. The original was a 18hp johnson which was about 20 years old.The boat is a tri-hull which was basically garage kept as my uncle had a heart attack shortly after buying it and took it out only a few times over the years. The motor was used when he bought it and I needed a more dependable motor. Not that there was anything wrong with it I just didn't quiet trust it.Well as for the site, its very active in the spring but drops off in the summer.Best of luck to you and yours take care.
