What advise would any of you experenced guys give to a beginner. I fish in North Al., Tenn and elk rivers. Just started in late Jan.

Where about are you from. I am around the Decatur area. Maybe we can get together and catch some fish.

Right now would be a good time and go mark/make soem cover for the fishing to come. Most lakes are drawn well below summer pool. those stumps, treetops and rocks you see will be prime spot to dropa jig/minnow here in a few weeks. Fishing is still spotty on my spots. As soon as the weather settles into a springtime pattern (and TVA brings up the water) the bite should be on pretty hard. Been a strange year.
