Do they exists? WHat colors do they like? Where is good plase to start? Never been there before but new inlaws live close by and trying to get away. LOVE to Crappie fish. Please help.

Sncotner, You can go to smith dam and fish over the wall after the turbins have been on..right before dark or at night and the crappie have been biting fair..A minnow works well.. I have caught some big crappie there this year...

Not sure if you have tried Smith by now, let me know where you go there. In general what I know about crappie on Smith, look for brushpiles sunk right under and around boathouses. a good hole may be 15 to 60 feet deep with tops coming up to 10 to 15 feet from the surface. small jigs with some red or chart. or a minnow. Fishing can be great,just not known for giant slabs. Good Luck Fishin

I don't know if I can be much help...I have not had much luck there either!! I have heard that most use minnows at Smith on Ryan creek or White Oak creek. Look for them around any stickups---try the boat houses too...
