You said the bass assasin was the best crappie bait. That just depends on where you are fishing. Some places I catch alot of fish on a white one. Some places I dont catch a crappie on any color bass assasin. Tube jigs are my overall best crappie lure. I took a guy from Kentucky with me a few weeks ago and we caught 250 crappie. All of them came on tube jigs. Went back two other times and caught about 300 with another guy and they were all caught on tube jigs also. The fish were small, we had only around 30 to 50 big enough to measure each time. email ejwalker@bellsouth.net

if you want to catch crappie and lots of them all you need is a 1/64 small jig head and use a red and white tube jig 1 inch or black and chartruse tube jig. big crappies hit black and chartruse real good in the spring or fall. you can either cast them around stumps or brush piles where you know crappie are. dont cast to close to brush as you will lose your jigs .but close as possible. also you can use a bobber and small jig. once again cast arond brush piles. fish about 1 to 2 feet deep. cast jig and let it settle for about 3 seconds. real slowly and give your rod a small twich about every 5 seconds.i have fished crappie for 30 yrs. them 2 colors are the best you can use. if you know a lake with big crappie use the black and chartruse color. i have caught hunderends of 1 pound crappie on this color. good luck fishing.
