I am looking to take my wife and son(4 years old) to the Big G in May from some bream. I have never fished G. We are going to stay at goosepond.I would appreciate any tips.
Are the channels marked well?

hey Mike bream fishing is great around goosepond.Try fishing gravel in sandbars comming off the points in coves in about4 to 7 foot deep for the bigger ones.Channels r narrow going to the main river but they r marked nicley.

Crappie fishing has slowed down some compared to last season. We had several nights last December where we caught the limit. This year while the numbers have been lower the sizes have increased. November 2 we caught 13 4 over 2 pounds 1 that is in the freezer now over 3 pounds I am going to mount. my favorite time to catch the most and the biggest is at night. North Salty pumping station, Preston Island causway, MInk Creek causway are some of my favorite spots but only after dark. Any night is good especally before a weather front is comming through. The wind is out of the south and at our backs most of these spots. I can catch as many on the bank at night as most people catch in boat during the day. I perfer slipcorks and minnows. Also in the early fall middle of October to ealy November when the grass is thick I have wore them out fishing with a cane pole. Hope this information will help. All you have to do is drive down highway 79 one night and count the lanterns or stop and count the fish that is being caught. Good Luck and I will see you on the river one night.
