Hey boowaa--Bibb county lake in central alabama is a good lake for starters--all electric except getting boat off and on trailer. They have jon boats for rent 3$, trolling motors, batteries etc. fairly cheap also. They will reopen Feb. 1. The lake is 100 acres and is clean so no worry about fish consumption. It also stays at the same level and good clarity so it is fairly stable. Crappie are easy to find over dozer piles year round. Have had some very good days there. Enjoy the serenity of no gas motors and is fairly secluded yet easy to find. About 30 min. south of Birmingham,al. Phone # at lake is (205) 938-2124. They also have many large bass and shellcrackers and catfish taken often. If you would like more info I check this message board about once a week.
