Just wondering if you have any information regarding the water quality below lock 17 and if the crappie and bream from that area are safe to eat. It is such a beautiful area and I would like to fish there. I've been to Birchfield Park a few times but never taken my boat. Also, are there any areas of shallow water in the area where the fish might spawn? Thanks for any info. you can provide.

the is good below lock 17 and all the fish are good to eat. Suprisingly, i have better fishing days there after a big rain. the fish love to sit on the edge of that swift water. After a big rain you can catch anything you want below lock 17 especially crappie, bass and striper.
