North Shore Lodge is located on the east end of Eagle Lake. We offer all the comforts you would expect from a full service fishing resort. The spacious main lodge has a liquor licensed lounge and patio where you can enjoy your favorite drink before or after supper. The warm fireplace on a cool evening is a great place for playing cards, watching a ballgame on satellite T.V. or just plain relaxing. The lodge also houses a complete tackle shop, souvenir shop and a sundry section with film, snacks, Canadian jam, and other small necessities. Home cooked meals are served in our beautiful dining room overlooking Eagle Lake. Homemade bread, soup and pastries are prepared daily.
Spacious grounds are well kept with plenty of pines, birches and spruce. Take a stroll through the 1 1/2 mile fitness/nature trail which winds through the woods along the shore of Eagle Lake. Horseshoes and shuffleboard await those looking to engage in a little friendly competition.
Our private cottages are available in a variety of sizes, which accommodate groups up to 12 persons with 2 baths. Each cottage has a three or four piece bath, individual beds, electric or propane heat and a refrigerator. Our housekeeping cottages are fully equipped with cooking utensils, dishes, linens and towels. American Plan guests receive daily maid service.
Wheeled planes can land at the lodge using our private 2400' sod airstrip. The airstrip is crowned for good drainage and is kept regularly mowed to a grass height of two inches. Direction is NW-SE, as are prevailing winds. The field is cut through the woods to the lake; the SE end is at the lakeshore and 20' in elevation above the lake, the NW end is cleared back two-thousand plus feet.
Landing and tiedown are free to guests. Incoming U.S. planes should phone or file a flight plan to clear Canadian Customs at Fort Frances, Ontario or at another airport of entry. You'll find our airstrip listed as "Eagle River Airport", on U.S., Canadian and WA.C. air charts.
