Fishing on the Chain of Lakes in Northern Illinois

We tried two different lakes and couldn't catch a fish. I guess we shouldn't feel bad, of the many people we spoke with on both lakes only one person caught a fish and one other had a bite. What the heck is going on, these waters are usually teaming with fish. We used to catch buckets of Stripers. Well anyway, we tried Pistakee Lake, in about 20-25 feet of water, had a few, short lived marks on the fish finder. No bites, nothing else! We used Wax Worms and Wigglers. Then we tried Fox Lake. Same bait, 6-10 feet of water, and again, nothing. Oh well, it was just great to be out though. Particularly because it had taken so long, this year, to get enough ice out on the lakes to fish. We'll certainly try again next week.

She looks as aggravated as all the fishermen felt!
